Guilt-Free Fries

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20-30 minutes

Ingredients:

Potatoes of your choice. *

French Fry Seasoning

Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees or air fryer to 375 degrees.
  2. Mix seasonings all together, preferable make a big batch and store with your spices.
  3. Scrub, clean, and cut potatoes into ½-inch fries–may peel skins if desired.
  4. Put into a mixing bowl and sprinkle with seasonings, stirring well to coat all pieces evenly.  If choosing to use oil, about 1/2 teaspoon per large potato, drizzled on just before seasonings.
  5. Place on parchment paper-lined cookie sheet that has been prepared with a light coating of food release spray. Separate fries so they won’t stick together.
  6.  BAKE approximately 20 minutes—time varies with size of potato slices. They are best when cooked until they start to blister as shown in the picture.  If they are not done at 20 minutes, turn them before you continue baking.
  7. AIR FRY approximately 15 minutes, shaking the basket a couple of times for more even cooking.

  •  For precooked potatoes:  steam potatoes with skins and refrigerate for best results — do not overcook!  Cut cooled potatoes into fry wedges and continue with the oven-baked directions.
  • For just one potato:  cut it raw into fry wedges.  Lay them without touching each other on a paper plate, sprinkle with seasoning, and microwave on high for 2 minutes.  Transfer to an air fryer and cook for 10 minutes at 375 degrees.
  • For sweet potatoes:  you can stir in 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice for each potato prior to sprinkling with the seasonings.
